Gatherings & Skills
Our gathering festivals are where it all began. These events bring a field full of women, non-binary and trans folks for a magical weekend of camping, riding, and community building in the UK’s Lake District.
Whilst you can expect two days of gorgeous off-road riding to suit most abilities, we believe what happens off the bike is as important as on. Whether you spend the day out on a full day epic ride, or a beginner-friendly guided ride, you’ll find a supportive atmosphere, campfire dinners, and plenty of skill and confidence building opportunities back at basecamp.
Upcoming Gatherings & Skills Schools
Who is it for?
Anybody who enjoys, or wants to try gravel riding with a great bunch of people, and thinks what happens off the bike is as important as what happens on it.
Our gatherings feature a choice of ride routes and guided/non-guided options to suit everyone.
Whether it’s your first off-road ride or a full day gravel epic, expect campfires, communal meals, talks and skills sessions around the rides.
What type of riding?
The riding is mixed gravel/off-road terrain, and can be anything from smooth tarmac to rocky bridleways, .
In the Lake District, “gravel” can mean smooth cycle paths, forest roads, singletrack, rocky bridleways, muddy fields and everything in between! There’ll be a few ride route options to choose from, depending on your level of experience, ranging from around 30km to 100km.
Rides are generally self-navigated and supported, but newbies are welcome! We’ll have some guided rides available for those just getting into gravel riding.
What kit do I need?
You’ll need an off-road suitable bike, but bike rental is available locally. Camping is at the heart of our gatherings, so a tent and camping stuff is needed, but we have some stuff to lend out.
There’s often glamping options available too for those who want a bit more comfort!
You won’t need any bikepacking bags for our gathering.
