Stories & Social @ Kendal Mountain Film Festival

Join us for a free story sharing sessions and social, over Kendal Mountain Film Festival weekend in our home base of the Lake District. We’ll have three very different tales of women and non-binary folks taking on their own adventures in the saddle, of all different shapes and sizes. We’ll be showing a couple of short films, a talk, and then a group Q&A to close. We’ll then roll on into an open social - the bar will be open for beers and hot chocolates!

The event is FREE, but you’ll need to grab a free ticket via Ticket Tailor through the link below.

Timings

4pm - 5:30: Films and stoires (ticket required - get one here on Ticket Tailor)

5:30 - 6pm: Social - open door, no ticket required

Drinks will be available at the cafe, come along a little early to grab one in time for the talks! The cafe doors will open to all once our films and stories sessions have finished. Come along to join the social.

Stories session:

Steezy Collective - Trailblazers (film)

The story of seven women taking on the epic Highland Trail 550 bikepacking race, with a spotlight on gender parity in the traditionally male-heavy world of bikepacking races. We'll have a bunch of the Steezy gang along to share their stories after the film.

Monet Adams, Vicky Balfour - Along for the Ride (film).

A tales of bikepacking with young familes, starring some of our favourites including Vicky Balfour and her daughter CeCe. Vicky will be joining filmaker Monet Adams to chat about the film, the realities of bikepacking with kids, and some tips for getting out there and doing it yourself

Alice Baddeley (talk)- Cycling the length of the UK....in a straight line!

Alice calls herself a "playful cyclist', taking on cycling adventures with a quirky twist. Last year she cycled the coast oif Britain in 80 days, and this year she rode it's length in a perfectly straight line! A regular at SITW events, Alice will be sharing tales from her latest journey, and is full of tips for how to plan your own.
